Google’s big new thing is Google Wave. I can’t explain what it is really. It’s the kind of thing you have to see for yourself. You know, like the Matrix.
Remember the Matrix? Remember how Morpheus made a big deal out of how it couldn’t be explained, it had to be seen? And then when you saw it – a giant virtual reality that all humans were plugged into – you wanted to turn to that zealoutous git and say “You could have just said it was a giant virtual reality that all humans were plugged into. That really isn’t so hard to describe. I did it just now, see?”
Well Google Wave is a lot like that. I could show it to you, and you could say “So…. it’s web-based IM with Gmail-like archiving.” You’d then be quite entitled to get Hugo Weaving to beat the shit out of me.
